Racing since 2011...

In 2011, Round The Rock was born and since then Run Jersey Events has been organising and creating iconic endurance events in Jersey and across the Channel Islands.

Round The Rock was the herald of Jersey trail racing and as it grew so numerous events were introduced, from night races to trail marathons.

In 2012 after a duo test run of the  110 mile Five Islands Ultra by myself and Lee Bennett, the  concept was launched and  was then held  in 2013 and 2014, along with the birth of the 36 mile Guernsey Ultra. The Guernsey Ultra was passed into the brave hands of Peter Tiffin and has now grown into the inreasingly popular GU36, directed by Michael Quittenden of Green Rock Events.

The Run Jersey Half Marathon, adopted from the Jersey Hash House Harriers in 2012 and with a new title sponsor, has now grown into the  Canaccord Jersey Half Marathon, which continues and is flourishing in its 35th year.

In 2014 The Canaccord Corporate Cup arrived on the scene to liven up the lunch times of the office world.

Having been deeply immersed in the  event world, it was time for a break and this step back saw Paul and his Trail Monkeys emerge with fresh creativity, taking on the Trail racing scene.

The Round The Rock baton was handed over after 9 years to Paul and his Trail Monkeys in 2019 along with The Canaccord Corporate Cup.

Run Jersey Events is proud of its creations that have now grown from strength to strength under the care and directorship of other equally passionate runners and race directors.

The trail scene has radically altered since those early days when Round The Rock was introduced, ultras are no longer the refuge of the obsessed mountain goat and sane runners now eagerly tackle whatever devious event that is thrown at them.

With that in mind, Run Jersey Events is excited to announce return of the Five Islands Ultra for 2024.

Let's see your furrows brow and  your  sweat, blood and tears flow once more.
